So cheers, old sport, to a Fitzgerald-esque line that seems effortless in execution.
Introducing Aftershock London.
The U.K.-based clothing and accessories private label (think BCBG Max Azria, but with a made-in-India twist) has chosen to open its first U.S. boutique in Dallas, and it’s full of trendy pieces such as summer-appropriate linen scarves ($80 to $140) and elegant organza wraps ($140). That said, the splashy store is seemingly dripping with sequined Jazz Age-era dresses--just by happy coincidence.
Indeed, Aftershock made a name for itself abroad with these fancy frocks (Madonna is a reputed fan), and the Dallas store dedicates a good half of its showroom to them too. Think luscious flapper-inspired numbers like the 1701 Pocket dress ($300) and white lace maxi visions like the Column ($180), which could probably double for bridal wear in a pinch.
Sure enough, the brand’s backstory is romantic. Husband and wife owners Hiro and Radhika Harjani married in India against their family’s wishes. Soon after moving to London, Aftershock--with Radhika as head designer--was born.
