A Dallas designer hits it big on Joss & Main
Some of us excel at decorating, knowing exactly how to create the perfect lived-in living room and whether or not to accessorize with an area rug.
Call it an innate gift. But for the design dunces among us (who only figured out what a duvet was a few years ago), we?re fortunate to have Shay Geyer.
She?s the decor guru du jour--whom you may have seen frequently on local television--and her keen eye for design is evident in her collaboration with the home-furnishings site Joss & Main. Geyer?s Statement & Style collection runs through Thursday.
The decorator?s classic aesthetic is surely a trait she inherited from her mother, Beth Rafferty, founder of Frisco?s IBB Design Fine Furnishings. The finds in the Joss & Main collaboration are notable for their vibrant colors and bold combinations of textures, much like the wares at the brick-and-mortar IBB warehouse.
We have our eye on the Ravella indoor/outdoor rug ($139)--ideal for our woefully underdressed patio space--as well as the Kicher Lara wall mirror ($154), a subtly trendy accessory that would add interest to any room.
Thanks to Geyer?s expertise, our house is starting to look a lot more like a home, if you know what we mean.
