For 10 years, the food at Cafe Modern has been inspired by farmers, artists and the changing of the seasons.
But now you can also thank some Facebook friends for contributing to chef Dena Peterson’s recipe of influences.
In conjunction with the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth’s tenth anniversary in its Tadao Ando-designed space, the standout restaurant is set to present a new menu this fall, compiled from winners of a poll the museum conducted on Facebook.
Among the favorite dishes? The Super Foods Trio appetizer (quinoa-veggie salad, green pea hummus and homemade yogurt dip with naan bread), lobster and shrimp mac and cheese (seared lobster and shrimp meat with aged fontina sauce) and the merlot-poached pear (braised in spiced wine, filled with Grand Marnier mascarpone and topped with pumpkin seeds).
And fear not, fans of the Modern’s swoon-worthy Wagyu beef cheeseburger: The sandwich, as well as the perennially popular Moroccan chicken salad, will stay installed, as it were, on the lunch list.
For us, the new menu is just another reason to like Cafe Modern.
