FW distillery beckons for an eclectic event
With the weather outside frightfully hot, it might seem counterintuitive to light a fire in one’s belly this time of year.
But we like to think that the whiskey made at Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. isn’t the only thing that’s smoldering.
The relatively new company’s gorgeous warehouse on Fort Worth’s Near Southside--all copper stills, exposed brick, 1930s glass and reclaimed wood--makes for a truly offbeat but totally Texan backdrop for any private event.
With four distinctly eclectic venue spaces, the distillery is poised to host any happening, from an intimate soiree (The Vault--yes, a real, working vault--can accommodate up to ten people; the Tasting Room, with its mosaic wall made of firewood, can host 25) to a larger gathering (two lots adjacent to the property are 20,000 square feet each).
You can also check out the space by signing up for a weekend group tour or a private viewing with owners Leonard Firestone and Troy Robertson. That is, when they aren’t busy making more TX Blended Whiskey: Just a few months ago, their first batch sold out immediately.
Too hot to handle, indeed.
