Drybar
Drybar opens its third area location this fall.

Finally, our hair has a fighting chance against the dreaded Texas humidity.

After years of hearing about the perks of perfectly polished hair from friends in New York and L.A., now we, too, can indulge in (relatively) cheap blowouts. Suddenly, the Dallas area has its fair share of straightening hair lairs from which to choose. A sampling of bars that offer $35 treatments:

The Hair Bar: Great hair comes naturally to owners and former models Shelley O?Neal and Gina Ginsburg, who have opened their first location in Southlake Town Square. This fall, they?ll branch out to Preston/Royal in Dallas.

LureBar at Lure Salon: Located within the full-service salon, LureBar in Dallas offers a signature cocktail with your treatment. A package of four blowouts is $125.

Drybar: With Highland Park and Plano locations, this popular California-based chain is rapidly expanding. Another location will open at NorthPark Center in the fall. Drybar also offers membership packages, including the Regular: two blowouts, one neck massage and 10 percent off products ($65).

Blow West 7th: Texas Christian University grad Nicole Werneck opened this Fort Worth destination for distressed tresses. Your hair transformation takes approximately 45 minutes, which is ideal for a lunch-hour pick-me-up. The bar also offers party packages.

Finally, there?s no excuse for a bad hair day. Now, if we could only figure out how to dial down that humidity.
