Dallas yard sales have moved online
One woman's trash is another woman's treasure.

Thinking of hosting a yard sale? Want strangers rummaging through your goods while you hang out on the front lawn for eight hours?

Yeah, we didn’t think so.

Luckily, there’s a new way to sell your old stuff: Post your unwanted items on one of Facebook’s many Dallas-area online yard sales. Working an online yard sale is easy: Find the group closest to you, request a membership and then start posting your wares for cash and a porch pick-up. (Or, if necessary, you can arrange a meeting time with the new owner of your 1975 lounge chair.)

Here are a few of our favorites:

Near SMU Park Cities Online Yard Sale (PCOYS) is a dream of designer frocks and gently used items, and happens to be the largest online yard sale in Dallas (almost 10,000 members). We scored a never-worn Dolce & Gabbana backless cocktail dress for $100 and found a few buyers for our too-skinny skinny jeans.

East Dallas East Dallas Treasure Exchange’s 4,000-plus members buy, sell and give away everything from landscape lighting ($40) to well-loved coffee tables (free!) that are ideal for refurbishing. We’ve even sold our old college tees on this one.

Mid Cities The Bargain Cave is perfect for buying (and selling) furniture for less than $250. We once found a Marge Carson ottoman and a stunning chandelier for a cool $80 each.
