Michelle Midyette redesigns heirloom jewelry
The emerald-and-diamond ring you inherited from your grandmother. The string of pearls your great-aunt gave you for graduation. All those costume necklaces your mom stockpiled for some odd reason.
Jewelry can have special meaning. But while part of you appreciates the stories behind the baubles, another part wishes you could turn them into items that better fit your style.
Enter Michelle Midyette, a certified gemologist who breathes new life into old heirlooms.
At your initial consultation, you can chat with Midyette about what you’re after. (Maybe you want to turn the engagement ring from your ex into stud earrings.) From there, she’ll paint a beautiful watercolor to show you what the final product will look like and then get to work crafting the piece. Alternately, you can have her create the design, and then take it to your personal jeweler for the actual production.
Two to four weeks later, your custom bauble will be ready.
We’re pretty sure Grandma would approve.
