A different kind of ER
Hey, injuries happen. (In retrospect, maybe we shouldn’t have mixed the trampoline and red wine.) But having to wait four hours in a crowded emergency room is like throwing salt on a wound.
Enter Preston Hollow Emergency Room, the newly opened ER off Walnut Hill and 75 that promises no lines, a well-stocked snack bar and mini fridge and a general ambience that can only be described as Zen-like. (Think soothing gray walls, gallery-worthy artwork and luminous chandeliers.) But the best part is how quickly they get you in and out.
Once we hobbled through the doors of the 24-hour ER, we were met by friendly board-certified nurses, who quickly processed our insurance info (they accept only private/commercial insurance or cash, which means the patients are prequalified and the lines, therefore, are shorter) and got us settled for a ten-minute wait. We were then evaluated and x-rayed by one of the licensed ER doctors and sent home with a cast and a prescription to ease the pain.
Total time spent there: 60 minutes.
