Snap To It
A healthy alternative to fast food opens in Uptown
Try as we might, eating virtuously during the week isn’t so easy. (Hello, mac and cheese with a side of nachos... again.)
Luckily, there’s Snap Kitchen, a healthy takeout spot that has just arrived in Dallas.
Catering to the gluten-free, Paleo, vegan and non-dairy set, Snap Kitchen offers up food that’s great for strict by-the-diet eaters and general health fiends alike.
We love the grilled kale Hoppin’ John (cumin-scented kale, brown Spanish rice, black beans, toasted pumpkin seeds and roasted sweet potatoes), the bison “Shepherd’s Pie,” which has an eggplant crust, and the chimichurri salmon, which comes with a shockingly spicy herb sauce.
You can place your order right from your phone for curbside pickup and check nutritional information online. The vegetable lasagna, for instance, has 190 calories and nine grams of fat and is vegan and gluten-free.
Not bad for a dinner that also tastes great.
