Living 300 miles from the closest beach means that finding good seafood can be a tough task.

Luckily, we’ve found three local spots that actually serve up fresh ocean air. You’d swear you were within minutes of a real body of water.

Best Oysters Still new to Dallas, Amberjax at Trinity Groves is seriously making waves. The served-on-the-half-shell oysters are sourced from both Nova Scotia and the Texas Gulf. Don’t miss the Naked Cowboy, which is a wild, thick-meat oyster from Long Island Sound. (3011 Gulden Lane)

Best Crawfish Nate’s is an under-the-radar neighborhood haunt in Addison offering up the tastiest Cajun food around. Order a pound (or two) of boiled crawfish turbo-style (a secret seasoning that is Creole flavoring with more red pepper punch) and a pint of cold, frothy beer. You might even get to chat with Nate himself--that’s if you can decipher his Cajun accent, of course. (14951 Midway Rd., Addison)

Best Lobster Roll Deep in East Dallas are two famous chefs, Marc Cassel and Suzan Fries. Their BYOB 20 Feet Seafood Joint serves the best lobster rolls in the entire city (made with fresh lobster straight from Boston Harbor).
