We?re always game for popping down to Trinity Groves--particularly when there?s a buzzy new restaurant to check out.
Our newest reason to make the trek? Chino Chinatown, a South American/Asian fusion spot with an inventive menu and a tapas-like vibe.
We recently went for ladies? brunch and started with the Copa Siete, a refreshing blend of Cielo Roja Bacanora, salted cucumber syrup, lemon juice, Pimm?s and ginger ale.
All the menu items looked amazing, but we had the lobster shooters, which are basically shot glasses filled with coconut Thai curry and guajillo served over a piece of lightly fried lobster. Next up: the duck-fat fried rice, made with shrimp, Chinese pork sausage, rice and a runny egg. It was devoured in minutes and left a little room to try the seasonal ahi tuna nachos, which were good, but hardly the standout of the brunch.
We finished with the piña colada upside-down cake and another Copa Siete, just because.
