Wear in Good Health
The "active-seam legging" paired with jackets.

Functioning grown women should not wear leggings as pants. But we’ve found a Highland Park shop that sells a pair so nice, they put most of our “real” clothes to shame.

North Shore resident Grace Steer launched Wear in Good Health three years ago as a luxury shapewear brand; now she’s added finely detailed tops, dresses, jackets and skirts that blur the line between loungewear and ready-to-wear. (An e-commerce site is coming soon; for now, an in-person visit to her new store is the only way to get the goods.)

Our must-have item is a pair of $195 “active-seam leggings” that come in black, almond, taupe, mint green, red and blue. Made of a supersoft blend of modal and Lycra micro-knit fabric, they’re polished enough to look dressier than tights or yoga pants.

The waistband hits in the right spot--near your belly button--and the seams stretch when you move. Paired with riding boots, a long tank and a blazer (cover your butt!), we’d wear them anywhere.

Speaking of tanks, the line includes a genius seamless one ($120) that’s reversible: Wear it one way for a higher neckline, or turn it around for a lower scoop.

With those two staples in our arsenal, we feel like we just splurged on a whole new wardrobe.
