Drink and Dry
An Old Town nail spot that also does cocktails
The idea of freshening up your manicure over a glass of bubbly is nothing new--Chicago has BYOB nail salons galore, and we love them for times when we want to primp with friends.
But when you’re just popping in for a solo mani/pedi, doesn’t it feel like overkill to lug along your own bottle of booze?
Enter Polish and Pour, an Old Town nail spot that recently became the first we’ve heard of to score its own liquor license. (No small feat in this town.)
The salon’s fully stocked bar was the first thing we noticed when we popped by one recent weekday afternoon. After we picked a polish color, we were led to a manicure station and handed a cocktail menu. Wine and Champagne are available by the glass or bottle, and there’s a list of 11 classic cocktails including the oh-so-apt Grey Goose Cosmo ($10). (This place shows nonstop SATC on all of its TV screens, after all.)
We opted for a glass of Prosecco ($9), which certainly helped pass the time as we waited for that fresh coat of Do You Lilac It? to dry.
