Poor old Wrigley. He can’t catch a break. Between multiple polar vortexes and three feet of snow in January alone, his long walks and beloved outings to the Belmont dog beach have dwindled to two-minute potty breaks as close to your building’s front door as propriety allows.
Ready to see that spark of doggy joy in his eye again? Treat him to playtime at Zoom Room, a new heated indoor dog gym in Lakeview.
The bright, blue-and-orange facility offers a lineup of agility classes and obedience workshops for dogs--there’s even “Pup-lates,” in which your big dog can work on strengthening her core with the help of a yoga ball and lateral side exercises. (Who wants to bet on how fast this devolves into super-cute fetch hour?)
For one-on-one human-dog bonding time, call ahead and book “Private Gym” sessions for $13 per 30-minute increment (bring up to three dogs for an additional $5 each). The staff will turn up the music and turn on the disco ball--because what dog doesn’t love a good dance party?--and you’ll have access to Zoom Room’s wide-open space full of toys, tunnels and hoops for running and jumping through.
There’s even free coffee for you and, of course, water for Wrigley, who hasn’t had this much fun since that sparrow flew in the window last summer.
