Our makeup bag overfloweth. And yet, with all those random eye-shadow pots floating around in there (why did we ever think fuchsia was our color?), we never seem to have the right tools to pull off a perfectly classic face.
There are five kits to choose from--including color combos for brown eyes or baby blues to wear during the day and a kit for taking office-appropriate cat eyes to cocktail hour--and each comes with two powder shadows, a neutral cream shadow, a gel eyeliner with a built-in brush and an indispensable eyelid brush. (Kits are $50.)
Tutorials on the company’s website show you how to apply each product. A trick we learned: Make a dot where you want your cat-eye line to end, then draw it out--that way you won’t take it too far. (Watch our own smoky eye demo here.)
Cate McNabb is a mineral line, meaning it’s gentle and natural. But unlike some mineral makeup we’ve tried, these products are highly pigmented--you'll get intense color that stays on from your first granola bar to your last cocktail.
