Recover from Thanksgiving at CH Distillery
The bird?s a done deal, you?re stuffed full of stuffing and the kitchen?s still a disaster zone. But your hosting duties aren?t over quite yet--the fam?s still in town.
Our solution? When 5 p.m. rolls around today (or anytime cocktail hour starts this weekend), take the crew to the West Loop?s new CH Distillery, the city?s first distillery doing double duty as a chic cocktail bar.
Opt for a spacious booth that will seat the whole clan. Mod twinkling lights overhead will make everyone look well-rested, and the not-too-loud music means Aunt Mary won?t be complaining she can?t hear anything again.
If your tastebuds are still on overdrive, order CH?s just-released Crema di Limoncello. Made with the distillery?s own vodka plus milk, sugar and fresh lemon peels, the traditional Italian digestif is served neat ($8). It tastes like an adult liquid lemon Creamsicle, or in other words, the perfect palate cleanser. (There?s also a full menu of drinks made with CH?s own vodka, whiskey, gin and rum.)
And since you?re headed to holiday parties every night from now until January, buy a few bottles to go--the Limoncello?s green vessel with its sunny yellow label ($30) makes a perfect hostess gift.
