Two pros to help you prep
So you invited 60 people to a holiday open house. Now you?re shocked at all the ?yeses? to your Paperless Post invite, your house is a wreck and you have nothing to wear.
Time for an intervention. Home organizer Sarah Nelson of Less Is More has partnered with Oak Park-based stylist Suze Solari to offer a five-hour package ($400) that will help you welcome holiday guests without the stress.
Solari will commandeer your closet, tossing ?don?ts? like that cropped velvet jacket and mining your wardrobe to create three party-ready outfits that you can have on standby to wear to your own soiree and other holiday functions.
Elsewhere in the house, Nelson will whip your pantry, guest room or coat closet into shape--just pick whichever one needs the most help.
Serving a big meal? Nelson will arrange foodstuffs so everything is visible and you can avoid buying duplicates. She?ll also toss expired food and mismatched Tupperware and clear countertops so you have space to cook.
If your in-laws are descending on your guest room--which has lately doubled as a dumping ground--Nelson will wipe out clutter and help you freshen things up with new towels or a luggage rack.
Now you won?t scream every time the doorbell rings.
