Party frocks from Anastasia Chatzka
What?s the best part of your office holiday party? Watching your assistant flirt with the mailroom guys or showing off an outfit that doesn?t scream ?corporate commando??
??If it?s the latter, then you should head tout de suite to the recently opened Wicker Park boutique of local designer Anastasia Chatzka. ??
Chatzka has worked with Anna Sui and Betsey Johnson, so she knows her way around a pretty frock--and she?s even designed silk pageant dresses for a former Miss Illinois. (You can order custom evening gowns starting at $1,200.)
Among Chatzka?s short cocktail numbers, we love this satiny eggplant shirtdress ($382) with sparkling buttons and a structured, quilted circle skirt that feels a little bit like wearing a blanket--not a bad thing when it?s 28 degrees and hailing.
There?s also an unconventionally sexy, wool plaid pencil dress ($316) with feminine details like a nipped-in waist and jaunty cap sleeves, and a flowing, asymmetrical burgundy silk chiffon dress ($462) that?s a perfect holiday color and seems made for dancing.
If you want a different look, just ask--Chatzka is the queen of customization. Added bonus: no chance of a ?who wore it best? showdown with Elizabeth from accounting. ??
