Tom and Meg. Christo and Jeanne-Claude. Fred and Ginger. When the creative chemistry is right, two heads are better than one.
??Our latest favorite matchup is a design collaboration between the affordable Brazilian shoe brand Melissa and the über-polished, Paris-based fashion king Karl Lagerfeld. ??
The four styles in the Melissa + Karl Lagerfeld fall collection are priced between $135 and $180, and if we didn?t know better, we?d think they were based on Sex and the City characters.
There?s the demure and elegant Glam flat, the streetwise and sensible Melissima, the rainbow-flair Ginga kitten heel and, our choice, the Incense siren stiletto with an ice-cream-cone heel (you know, just for the fun of it).
The collection just debuted in Chicago at a shop-in-shop open through the end of the month at the Mag Mile boutique Space519. ?
Store owners Jim Wetzel and Lance Lawson are all for pushing style boundaries, and Wetzel says the key to wearing these attention-grabbing shoes is about humor and juxtaposition. Go high-low by pairing the recyclable plastic shoes with a washed-out pair of jeans, a perfectly fitted blazer and a statement necklace.??
And don?t forget to strut. ??
