Put these fall concerts on your calendar
Remember earlier this summer when everyone you knew was posting Instagram videos of J.T. and Jay-Z at Soldier Field--and you were stuck watching a Modern Family rerun? Don?t let that happen again. There are three amazing concerts on the horizon this fall, and if you act now, you can be Instagramming them later.
Fiona Apple at Bank of America Theatre How many times did we sing along to ?Criminal? in the ?90s? Our Fiona has grown up since then--so have we, thankfully--but her emotional vocals are as poignant as ever. At her October 15 show, she?s expected to play from her songbook (?Criminal?!) as well as introduce some unreleased material. Tickets $45 to $65; 18 W. Monroe St.; jamusa.com
Wild Belle at the Metro We fell for this hometown band when their single ?Keep You? began dominating our Spotify queue. It?s no surprise that the brother-sister duo--led by Natalie Bergman?s ethereal vocals--has become one of the most-hyped Chicago acts in recent years. On October 26, see them play an intimate venue while you still can. Tickets $15; 3730 N. Clark St.; metrochicago.com
Janelle Monáe at The Vic Bow tie: Check. Suspenders: Check. We?re all set to see our fashion crush bust out some song-and-dance numbers from her just-dropped LP, The Electric Lady, which features collaborations with Erykah Badu, Solange and Esperanza Spalding. You never know who might stop by the October 21 show. Tickets $31; 3145 N. Sheffield Ave.; victheatre.com
