VMR designer resale opens on Oak Street
Imagine having a personal stylist--but without the pricey fee. Thanks to the expert team behind a new appointment-only designer resale showroom on Oak Street, that experience can now be had for free.
The light-filled, seventh-floor aerie is called VMR--Vintage Modern Resale--and the partners in the biz are Mark Gill, a longtime Chicago wardrobe consultant, and Tina Kourasis, who spent 17 years as an attorney specializing in retail. (Her clients were labels like Hudson and James Jeans.)
Between them, they know what works. Explain what you’re looking for, and they'll size you up and send you to the dressing room with the right clothes in two minutes flat.
The pair has compiled an awe-inspiring collection of clothing and accessories to choose from, stocking the all-white space with vintage and current pieces acquired from the seriously amazing closets of some of Gill’s socialite clients around the country.
We’re in love with a backless, turquoise Pucci cocktail dress for $405, a sequined Emanuel Ungaro evening dress for $2,000 and a Jil Sander khaki cotton crinkle dress for $500.
Wear it now: a chiffon Chanel bathing suit cover-up for $350. That’s one way to make an entrance at the pool.
