From wardrobe staples like Marc by Marc Jacobs to a fleeting collaboration like Prabal Gurung for Target, we’re always happy to find less expensive ways to pick up good design.

Now a Chicago company famous for its lovably goofy TV commercials--and furniture built to last--is getting in on the action. Enter The Mark, Walter E. Smithe’s new lower-priced line of customizable chairs, ottomans, headboards and chaises.

The collection runs between $200 and $800 and includes items like the Armitage arched headboard with brass nail buttons ($509 for a queen, great in antique white), a camelback chair that comes in zigzag fabrics ($449) and a chic tufted cocktail ottoman ($519) that’s similar but miles more affordable than a Currey & Co. ottoman ($2,359) from Smithe’s regular selection.

The compact collection will get an update every three months, and if you order online, you can expect delivery in about ten days--pretty speedy for designer pieces.

Looks like those funny guys also have an eye for a bargain.
