Kryolan gets a makeover
Nights out, family photo shoots, public speaking ops, weddings: These are the times when your makeup needs to be not just nice, but flawless.
Book an application at the newly revamped Kryolan store in Lincoln Park--one of only two such shops in the U.S.--and you?ll get a look that?s both camera-ready and made to last until you want it off. (Application prices range from $45 to $60 and there?s no pressure to load up on products.)
The German brand has long been a favorite of pros for its prolific range of color and high pigmentation levels that deftly cover birthmarks, scars and hyperpigmentation. Kryolan beautifies contestants at the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, and local companies like the Lyric Opera, Steppenwolf and Chicago Shakespeare Theater all rely on the line.
A recent relaunch of the 65-year-old brand has ushered in packaging updates, a new website and new products to augment the nearly 15,000 already on offer. We love the just-introduced nail polish collection in a range of eye-popping colors (about $14 a bottle), and we?re fans of Kryolan?s Make-up Blend formula ($24), which lets us dilute foundations, lipsticks and more to create lighter coverage for low-maintenance moments.
