A dream comes true on Chicago Avenue
There’s a bit of a Cinderella story behind Inside Home, the newly opened boutique on a hip strip in the Ukrainian Village.
Partners Rob and Jason Colosi-McCann were always interested in opening their own interiors business, but Jason was committed to his job with Z Gallerie and Rob had a jet-setting career in the music industry. Years ago, to keep their dream alive, they bought the domain name insidehomechicago.com.
When they recently found themselves in a better position to act on their long-held plans, their shop was born.
The spot couples iconic mid-century classics with timeless accents. Vintage items are tagged with a simple recycle symbol, but the old and new are blended so seamlessly, we couldn’t spot the difference. An elegant gray nail-head armchair ($750) sits near a mid-century highball set ($12 each); a pair of chrome cork lamps ($220 each) sheds light on a low-slung Danish-style sofa ($2,250). Personal accessories are tucked into a corner, and cards by one of our favorite letterpress stationers, Hello! Lucky, line the counter. (Full interior design and home-staging services are available.)
To add to the hospitality, Jason offered us a mimosa while we browsed. Who wouldn’t want to come home to that?
