Sign us up for any excuse to road-trip through beautiful Wisconsin in fall--especially if the destination is Kohler, for the annual Food & Wine Experience.

Anchored at the five-star American Club Resort Hotel, the three-day affair (which kicks off next Thursday) features a lineup of celebrity chefs and sommeliers (Lidia Bastianich will be there, as will Spiaggia’s Tony Mantuano and Sepia’s Andrew Zimmerman). We’re equally impressed with the number of events tied to beer, spirits, chocolate and coffee; sign up for a cocktail course (“Shake & Stir: N’awlins-Style” is $37) or beer seminar (we have our eye on “Wisconsin’s Brewing History,” $26).

Related events and offers are scattered throughout the picturesque Village of Kohler, too. Love the bed you’re sleeping in at the American Club? Scentualities will take 20 percent off the linens it carries exclusively for the hotel.

Considering all the eating and drinking involved, it’s a good thing there’s also Kohler Waters Spa. We’re booking the “Bourbon on the Rocks” pedicure ($85), which entails a nectar-powder milk foot soak, a bourbon-bubbler scented scrub and a honey-glaze mask. Even the spa treatments sound delicious.
