It’s a fitting concept for a spa located right across the street from a bustling Whole Foods: organic mani-pedis, organic facials, organic everything.
The owners of the just-opened Savon Spa in East Lakeview saw a gap in the neighborhood’s beauty scene, and they’ve filled it with a sunny, Tiffany-blue space that’s several atmospheric notches above the quickie nail spots that populate the surrounding blocks.
Savon’s service menu is comprehensive: facials for all skin types using Éminence Organic Skin Care of Hungary products (about $100), more complex treatments like microdermabrasion ($130) and micro-needle therapy ($125)--plus massage, spray tans, mud wraps, waxing for women and men and more. (Injectables are on the horizon.)
But for an everyday fix, we’ll be settling into the extra-roomy pedicure chairs--which deliver about as powerful of a back massage as you could ask for--and asking for the organic foot treatment and vegan nail polish ($45).
The owners were busy booking beauty parties during our visit; the next time we’re in the mood to treat ourselves to a party for one, we’ll order one of Savon Spa’s in-home facials from the mobile spa menu--like the $245 Cleopatra 24k Gold Mask.
Decadence always becomes us.
