Precision Running at Equinox is a 60-minute treadmill class with a formula that constantly challenges you to break personal records for speed, incline and duration. Speed Training is offered three times a week through the Chicago Area Runners? Association. A coach will teach you techniques for running faster (lots of short bursts of speed are involved) and minimizing your risk of injury. The program is a great deal: It?s $200 a year, and you can attend as many sessions as you want in that time. Meets just south of Diversey Avenue, next to the running path
Gait Analysis at On Your Mark Coaching + Training can help you find out which movement and posture problems could be contributing to your stagnant finish times. You?ll work on shock absorption and energy-conserving techniques, and your trainer will give you tailored weight-lifting exercises to help correct imbalances. $250 for two sessions; available in the West Loop and Bucktown
