Kalla
Graceful fall: a ballet-inspired bouquet.

We soldiered through enough years of dating to get a bouquet or two. The carnations-and-teddy-bear combo from Mr. Too Young. The drugstore roses from Mr. Kinda Lazy. The serene white orchid that outlasted Mr. Unavailable.

But never did we get flowers quite like the ones delivered by Kalla, a new-to-Chicago service that packs more luxury into its presentation than we?ve ever seen.

Kalla?s menu of limited-edition bouquets is inspired by epic pairs throughout history--think tightly packed Alabaster roses and succulents in ?Grace and the Prince? and delicate orchids nestled among green ball dianthus in ?Anna and Vaslav? (famous dancers of the Ballet Russes).

The flowers are arranged fully bloomed for the biggest impact upon delivery, then packed in gift boxes decorated with specially commissioned artwork. Order online and type in your own gift card message--no embarrassing misspellings to worry about. You can even send a personalized video or photo message that will arrive by text or email. (Bouquets cost $95 to $250; same-day delivery available when you order before 11 a.m.)

Then there are the add-ons: a bottle of wine for $40 or gourmet chocolates for $25. Or both, if you really, really love the person.
