Whoopi Goldberg already has a dream cast in mind for Sister Act 3.
The View cohost made a special appearance on Charlamagne Tha God’s show, Hell of a Week, last week and talked about the highly anticipated sequel. The talk show host wanted to know Goldberg’s thoughts about a fan-made poster shared by actress Keke Palmer on Twitter, featuring her name alongside Goldberg and Bette Midler.
When asked about her picks for the ensemble cast, Goldberg said, “Ask Keke Palmer to come in. You know, I want everybody to come in. I want Lizzo to come in, I want everybody. I want the girl with the chest, what's her name? Nicki [Minaj], I want Nicki to come!”
She continued, “I want everybody, I want as many people who wanna have some fun 'cause I really, desperately need to have some fun.”
Back in December 2020, Walt Disney Studios confirmed that a Sister Act 3 is in development. The new installment will premiere exclusively on Disney+. It was also rumored the movie would feature an all-new cast and possibly be directed by Goldberg.
An official release date has not been confirmed yet and details surrounding the ensemble cast haven’t been announced. But, hearing Whoopi share her dream cast for the sequel is making us hope that we’ll be hearing casting news very soon.
