‘Virgin River’ Introduces New Character in Season 4 BTS Video

Producers just shared another behind-the-scenes video from the set of Virgin River season four. And while the previous one teased a potential spoiler, the latest clip introduced a brand-new series regular: Mark Ghanimé (Dr. Cameron Hayek).

Yesterday, the crew posted a BTS video on the show’s official Instagram account, featuring Alexandra Breckenridge (Melinda, or “Mel”) dancing alongside her newest Virgin River co-star.

In the video, Breckenridge and Ghanimé are dancing on a porch to Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It,” while crew adjusts lighting and makeup in the background. Although it’s hard to tell from the clip, the actors appear to be standing right outside of Doc’s (Tim Matheson) clinic.

The caption read, “This is how we welcome Dr. Cameron Hayek to VR….@themarkghanime #virginriverseries #virginriver #netflix #virginriverseriesnetflix #virginrivernetflx.”

Unfortunately, Netflix hasn’t released any further details about the new character, Dr. Cameron Hayek. However, there’s a good chance that he’ll vie for the open position at the clinic that Doc has been trying to fill. In Virgin River season three, Doc told Mel about his wet age-related macular degeneration (wet AMD) diagnosis and proceeded to search for a doctor to replace him. Although he wasn’t successful—at least not yet—perhaps Dr. Hayek will become Mel’s new co-worker (and love interest).

If Ghanimé looks familiar, it’s probably because he’s no stranger to the small screen. In addition to films like No Escape Room and Always and Forever Christmas, he also starred as Major Sergio Balleseros on Helix and Don Carlos on Reign.

Welcome to Virgin River, Dr. Hayek.
