Mandy Moore Says It Will Be ‘Really Hard to Let Go’ Once ‘This Is Us’ Comes to an End

The series finale of NBC’s This Is Us is almost upon us, and fans aren't ready to say goodbye just yetincluding one of the show’s stars, Mandy Moore.

On Sunday, the 37-year-old actress attended the Critics’ Choice Awards in Los Angeles. During the red carpet event, Moore opened up about the show, which will end this May after six seasons.

When asked about the cast's initial reaction to filming the last episode, she said it's a “bittersweet” moment for all of them. “I think we’re all super emotional about it at this point, but like trying to keep it together,” she said, according to People. “I’m trying to just stay present and appreciate, you know, all the time that we have left with one another.”

Moore went on to say that she’s so grateful for the opportunity. “I mean, to have to play a character from her mid-20s to her mid-80s and everything in between," she added. “[It] was something I never ever expected. I can't imagine—it still sort of is mind-boggling to me. To go to work every day and go through four hours of makeup. But you know, yes, it's the most incredible gift. I've loved every single second of it.”

Although the series is coming to an end, This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman has shown interest in doing a movie. In an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, the producer said he’s open to the idea.

“If we could figure out a movie down the road, I’d love to get back together with these guys and do it,” he told the outlet.

While he doesn’t know the central plot for the film, Fogelman has a potential idea in mind. “I don’t know what that would be. By the end of this season, I think we’ll have told the complete story, so, I’m not sure,” he continued. “If you’re doing the movie of, like, what would happen if Jack survived the fire or something, but I don’t know…”

Excuse us while we have a This Is Us marathon before the final episode airs.
