This Fan-Favorite Character Is Returning for ‘The White Lotus’ Season 3

Pack your bags White Lotus fans, because it looks like our next cast will be catching the first plane to Thailand. According to an exclusive report by Variety, multiple sources attached to the production of the HBO show teased that the third season will take place in the Southeast Asian country.

Per the recent report, the upcoming season could be set in any of the four luxury hotel giants throughout Thailand, which are located in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and the Golden Triangle. But for now, the exact hotel still remains unconfirmed.

Creator, writer and director Mike White previously teased the possibility of traveling to Asia. “I think it’d be fun to maybe go to a whole different continent,” he said, according to Deadline. “You know, we did Europe, and maybe Asia, something crazy like that, that would be fun.”

Most recently, HBO executive Casey Bloys got fans excited at the Series Mania Festival, where he teased the season 3 plotline, as reported by Variety. “[White] just pitched us the idea and it’s great,” Bloys told the audience. “It’s a really fun idea and he’s shown it’s possible.”

While history indicates there will be an almost entirely new cast for season 3 of The White Lotus, fans will be happy to hear that another fan-favorite character from season one is returning for the third season: Belinda Lindsey, who is portrayed by talented actress, Natasha Rothwell.

Variety exclusively reported that the actress is going to reprise her role as the beloved spa manager in season three. Although her involvement in the new season still remains a mystery, The White Lotus series creator Mike White previously teased that the third season will be “a satirical and funny look at death and Eastern religion and spirituality.” Could this be a subtle hint to Lindsey’s role in the new installment? For now, we’ll just have to wait and see.

This is the tricky part. Since the second season follows a different group of vacationers staying in an Italian White Lotus resort, it’s hard to tell who will return for future installments. For the second season, Coolidge returned as Tanya McQuoid (but, *spoiler*—based on that season 2 finale, we have a feeling Coolidge won't be returning for the third installment). And now, we know Rothwell will return to play Belinda Lindsey in the third installment. But the big question is: Who else will be joining season three?

Besides Rothwell’s return, the casting for season three still remains a mystery. During the Series Mania Festival, Bloys said that White is “casting people you know.” However, the HBO exec added that White is writing them “[in a way that] allows you to rediscover them or see them in a new light.”
