Will ‘The Undoing’ Return to HBO for Season 2? We Have Answers

Our minds are still reeling after last night’s season finale of The Undoing, which had a major twist ending. Still, we’re left with several burning questions. For example, will the HBO series return for season two?

Unfortunately, the network hasn’t officially announced a season two renewal for The Undoing. While the idea hasn’t been totally ruled out, director Susanne Bier admitted that the show’s six-episode run was more than enough.

“This is a tight story, which is why I think six hours is perfect,” she told Entertainment Weekly. “There’s something about six that has a natural arc.”

The Undoing star Nicole Kidman (Grace Fraser) agreed with the director, revealing that when she received the script, she prepared for one season (and one season only).

“It’s not like a drama series where you’re not quite sure how they’re going to evolve, and you have a next season,” she told the outlet. “That’s why I say it’s like cinema, because you have a beginning, middle and end.”

Kidman continued, “The thing about a limited series is it’s so difficult because you’re writing a much longer form of cinema that you have to keep people engaged in, and in some ways that’s so much harder. That, as an actor, is delicious.”

So, it’s totally normal to treat The Undoing as if it’s a long, six-hour movie? If you need us, you know where to find us.
