Netflix’s Action-Packed New Show Just Hit #2—and It’s a Real-Life ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’

If you loved the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise (anyone else miss a sword-fighting Orlando Bloom?), then feast your eyes on this all-new Netflix docuseries.

The Lost Pirate Kingdom recently claimed a spot on the streaming service’s list of most-watched shows. (It’s currently ranked at number two behind Ginny & Georgia and ahead of The One, Cocomelon and Last Chance U: Basketball.)

So, what’s all the hype? The Lost Pirate Kingdom is a hybrid documentary that combines scripted scenes and expert interviews to transport viewers back to the 18th century. The six-part series begins in 1715, shortly after the War of Spanish Succession, which marked the beginning of a 12-year naval war in the Caribbean.

Not only does it highlight the major players who devoted their lives to plundering ships, but it also explores the notorious rivalry between Benjamin Hornigold (Sam Callis) and Henry Jennings (Mark Gillis).

The Lost Pirate Kingdom also stars Nathanjohn Carter (Lieutenant Maynard), Richard Dee-Roberts (Archibald Hamilton), Moneer Elmasseek (Thomas Barrow), Kevin Howarth (Woodes Rogers), Sinead MacInnes (Mary Hallet), Evan Milton (Samuel Bellamy), Tom Padley (Charles Vane), Mia Tomlinson (Anne Bonny), Jack Waldouck (Jack Rackham) and George Watkins (James Bonny).

BRB, adding The Lost Pirate Kingdom to our streaming queue.
