Netflix’s New Ryan Gosling Flick Is the Most-Viewed Movie—and Now It’s Getting a Sequel

It’s only been a few days since the star-studded action flick, The Gray Man, premiered on Netflix. The highly anticipated spy thriller—which stars Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans and Regé-Jean Page—has already taken the number one spot on the streaming service’s top ten list.

This week, Netflix reported the action-packed thriller has topped another list—but this time, it’s the platform’s most-watched English-language movie list. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo (Avengers: Endgame), the film has been viewed for more than 88 million hours. (It was followed by The Sea Beast with around 34 million hours viewed.)

The best part? Fans haven’t seen the last of Sierra Six and The Gray Man universe. Per Deadline, Netflix and AGBO are already working on a Gray Man sequel film, which will be based on the book series.

Gosling is set to reprise his role as the former CIA operative in the new installment. Additional details about the spin-off haven’t been released yet, but it is confirmed that Deadpool and Zombieland scriptwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese will be joining the project.

Based on the 2009 novel of the same name by Mark Greaney, The Gray Man follows a man named Sierra Six (Gosling), who becomes a CIA agent in exchange for a smaller jail sentence. But, he soon finds himself the target of an unhinged killer named Lloyd Hansen (Evans).

Alongside the main leads, the ensemble cast includes Ana De Armas (Knives Out), Jessica Henwick (Game of Thrones), Wagner Moura (Shining Girls), Julia Butters (Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood), Alfre Woodard (Marvel’s Luke Cage) and Billy Bob Thornton (Fargo).
