Unlike florals for spring, this actually is groundbreaking: Th
Produced by Kevin McCollum and written by Paul Rudnick (the brilliant mind behind The First Wives Club and the 2004 The Stepford Wives remake), the show will feature musical ingenuity by Sir Elton John (!).
The musical team also includes Anna D. Shapiro, who will be directing the production, and Nadia DiGiallonardo, who will provide the music supervision.
John previously said of his involvement, “Reimagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theater is super exciting.”
On loving the book, its film adaption and all things fashion, Sir Elton continued,“I'm a huge fan of both the book and the feature film and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can't wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
We can’t wait either, Elton.
Although McCollum confirmed the news to the Chicago Tribune, stating that it was "important" for director Shapiro that the musical premiered in Chicago, we’re still staying optimistic about a potential future move to Broadway in New York City.
