This Intense Bruce Willis Thriller Just Hit Netflix’s Top 10 List & It’s Totally Worth the Watch

If you’re a sucker for anything involving Bruce Willis, then you’ve come to the right place.

Tears of the Sun—which originally premiered back in 2003—recently became available to watch on Netflix, and it’s already claimed the number nine spot on the streaming service’s list of top-rated movies. (It’s currently ranked behind Afterlife of the Party, Worth, Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins, Green Lantern, Wind River and He’s All That.)

The movie takes place during the civil war in Nigeria, following a U.S. Navy SEAL team rescue mission. The story begins in the aftermath of a military coup d’etat, where the president and his family are killed. Lieutenant A.K. Waters (Bruce Willis) and his Navy SEAL team are tasked with extracting a variety of U.S. citizens from the chaos. This includes the daughter of a U.S. senator, Dr. Lena Fiore Kendricks (Monica Bellucci).

In addition to Willis and Bellucci, Tears of the Sun features an all-star cast including Tom Skerritt (Captain Bill Rhodes), Cole Hauser (James "Red" Atkins), Paul Francis (Danny "Doc" Kelley), Eamonn Walker (Ellis "Zee" Pettigrew), Johnny Messner (Johnny Kelly JKL Lake), Nick Chinlund (Michael "Slo" Slowenski), Charles Ingram (Demetrius "Silk" Owens), Chad Smith (Jason "Flea" Mabry), Cornelia Hayes O’Herlihy (Sister Siobhan), Fionnula Flanagan (Sister Grace), Pierrino Mascarino (Father Gianni), Peter Mensah (Commander Terwase), Malick Bowens (Colonel Idris Sadick), Akosua Busia (Patience), Sammi Rotibi (Arthur Azuka) and Benjamin Ochieng (Colonel Emanuel Okeze).
