‘Suits’ Starring Meghan Markle Just Broke a Major Record on Netflix

*Slow clap*

That’s right, your honor: Suits has just achieved a major milestone on Netflix.

Per a new report by The Mirror, the legal drama has become the first show to garner 3 billion minutes viewed for seven weeks straight on Netflix, which totals up to 26.5 billion minutes watched since arriving on the streaming service two months ago. However, Stranger Things still has the highest viewing total in eight weeks on the platform, with the fourth season of the sci-fi series having a total of 35.5 billion (yes, billion) minutes viewed.

But, that’s not the only record Suits has managed to break. The nine-season series has also become the first show ever to stay around 3 billion minutes watched since the Nielsen streaming records began in 2020.

Despite the show ending almost four years ago, Suits has managed to garner a newfound popularity on Netflix—and not only that, the show has managed to claim a top spot in the streamer’s top 10 shows list since its debut on the service.

Before she became a royal duchess, Meghan Markle, 42, starred on the series before leaving in 2018. While playing Rachel Zane (who works at a law firm) the British royal family had a lot of say in what her character can say—and do—on the show.

While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Suits creator Aaron Korsh shared the numerous (and pretty shocking) suggestions he received from Buckingham Palace about Markle’s character on the show.

At one point, he had to change a line written in the royal’s script. “They didn’t want to put the word ‘poppycock’ in her mouth,” Korsh said. “I presume because they didn’t want people cutting things together of her saying ‘cock.’ So, we had to change it to ‘bulls***’ instead of ‘poppycock.’”

Bravoooo, Suits.
