There are quite a few similarities between John Dutton and Givens, as they both carry an air of confidence and play by their own rules.

17. Hell on Wheels

This series depicts the construction of the first transcontinental railroad, and it mainly focuses on former Confederate soldier Cullen Bohannon, who tries to exact revenge on the Union soldiers who murdered his family during the Civil War. Something tells us he’d get along well with John Dutton.

Since a rival family, the Tillersons, is relentlessly trying to take over the Abbotts’s property, Royal must figure out how to deal with the massive black void on his property.

Speaking of intimidating patriarchs, The Son also follows a powerful, ruthless cattle baron named Eli McCullough.
