NICK WALL/BBCAMERICA

1. Killing Eve

  • Cast: Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw

This British spy thriller is about M16 agent Eve Polastri and her complicated relationship with prolific assassin Villanelle. It's darkly funny, plus there are four seasons available so you have plenty to binge.

Josh Stringer/Hulu

2. Tell Me Lies

  • Cast: Grace Van Patten, Jackson White, Alicia Crowder

The series documents the complicated relationship between two college students, Lucy (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen (Jackson White). Just like Judy and Jen, they are plagued by a secret that must stay buried. (FYI, the Hulu show has been renewed for season 2.)

Netflix

3. Good Girls

  • Cast: Christina Hendricks, Retta, Mae Whitman

The synopsis says: “Three suburban moms orchestrate a local grocery store heist to escape financial ruin and establish independence—together.” Sure, it’s not super believable, but that’s what makes it similar to DTM.

OWN

4. Greenleaf

  • Cast: Merle Dandridge, Kim Hawthorne, Desiree Ross

Meet the Greenleaf family. Not only do they run a successful megachurch in Memphis, but they’re also not as innocent as they seem (just like Judy and Jen).

Netflix

5. Ozark

  • Cast: Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Sofia Hublitz, Julia Garner

Less comedic and on the darker side, Ozark follows a financial advisor who drags his family from Chicago to the Missouri Ozarks (yes, it’s a real place), where he must launder money to keep from being murdered by his drug boss.

Netflix

6. Russian Doll

  • Cast: Natasha Lyonne, Charlie Barnett, Yul Vazquez

Nadia is stuck in a loop of repeatedly dying and reliving the night of her 36th birthday. She tries to figure out why and simultaneously break the vicious cycle of her mortality.

Netflix

7. You

  • Cast: Penn Badgley, Ambyr Childers, Victoria Pedretti

Joe is a dangerously charming, intensely obsessive young man who goes to extreme (emphasis on extreme) measures to insert himself into the lives of those he is transfixed by.

Netflix

8. Virgin River

  • Cast: Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson

Melinda “Mel” Monroe is a midwife and nurse practitioner who moves to a remote California town for a fresh start. Although she tries to leave her painful memories behind, she soon learns that her past secrets can only stay buried for so long.

NBC

9. The Good Place

  • Cast: Kristen Bell, William Jackson Harper, Jameela Jamil

Similar to Dead to Me, The Good Place also navigate ethics (however, not murder per se), as four individuals struggle in the afterlife to uncover the meaning of life and define what it really means to be good.

Netflix

10. The End Of The F***ing World

  • Cast: Jessica Barden, Alex Lawther, Naomi Ackie

Based on the comic book series by Charles Forsman, the show follows teenagers James and Alyssa. They may have nothing in common, but that doesn’t stop them from joining forces to find Alyssa’s estranged father. And although James is a certified psychopath, he decides to embark on the adventure anyway.

SHOWTIME

11. Weeds

  • Cast: Mary-Louise Parker, Hunter Parrish, Alexander Gould

This charming, yet dark suburban dramedy revolves around a troubled mother living a dual life as a parent and a marijuana pusher (sound familiar?) after the death of her husband. As it turns out, her neighbors and friends are not as naive as she once believed.

Netflix

12. Santa Clarita Diet

  • Cast: Drew Barrymore, Timothy Olyphant, Liv Hewson

The dark comedy follows a pair of married realtors who live in Santa Clarita with their young daughter. However, things start to get weird when the matriarch begins craving human flesh and will stop at nothing to get it.
