If you’ve been watching the Netflix series religiously, then you already know that season three ended with quite a few cliffhangers—especially regarding the fate of Moordale Secondary School. But when will the new season premiere? And who will be added to the cast? Keep scrolling for answers.

1. When Was Sex Education Season 4 Announced?

In September 2021, Netflix announced that the teen comedy would return for season four by posting a Moordale-themed announcement on the show’s Twitter account. However, the series didn’t resume production until August 2022, when Butterfield shared a behind-the-scenes pic from the set. On Twitter, he posted a snap of himself sipping from a mug in front of his trailer and wrote, “Guess who's back?”

2. What Is Sex Education Season 4 About?

According to the official synopsis on Netflix, Moordale students will have to adjust to a challenging new setting in the next chapter. The description reads, “Following the closure of Moordale Secondary, Otis and Eric (Ncuti Gatwa) now face a new frontier—their first day at Cavendish Sixth Form College. Otis is nervous about setting up his new clinic, while Eric is praying they won’t be losers again. But Cavendish is a culture shock for all the Moordale students—they thought they were progressive but this new college is another level.”

As for Maeve, she’s busy living her best life across the pond. The synopsis continues, “Over in the U.S., Maeve is living her dream at prestigious Wallace University, being taught by cult author Thomas Molloy. Otis is pining after her, while adjusting to not being an only child at home, or the only therapist on campus.”

All we can say is, we’re so ready for the new season.
