Secret weddings and pregnancy news soon gave way to the headline-grabbing mashup we never knew we’d love to read about: secret celebrity births. From Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds to Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach, these are the celebs who welcomed children this year, totally under the radar.
Perhaps the most shocking of the year so far was the mystery baby born to parents Lively and Reynolds. Just five months after the Gossip Girl alum debuted her baby bump, Us Weekly confirmed in October 2019 that she and her husband had welcomed baby number three over the summer. To top it off, we still don’t have an official announcement or a name.
The Office alum debuted her second son in an Instagram post four weeks after his birth. “Happy 1-month birthday to our baby boy, Matthew!” the actress captioned an Instagram post in October. “He has inherited his dad’s brown hair and his mom’s desire to be carried around all day in a baby sling.”
OK, so technically this one wasn’t born in 2019, but that’s when the announcement was made. In September, the It actor revealed to Steven Colbert that he had an 11-month-old daughter whose nursery was filled with Pennywise the Clown toys. We’re serious.
The singer and his wife welcomed their daughter, Ramona Rae, in June 2019 and introduced her to their Instagram followers the following month. “Still debating on her nickname being Mona or Romy, what do you think?!” We voted Romy, obviously.
The 34-year-old actress recently sat down for an interview with BBC Breakfast and addressed recent rumors claiming she had given birth to baby number two. While discussing her fatigued appearance, Knightley confirmed the child’s arrival and admitted that she’s been caring for a newborn.
This news was revealed when the Lady Bird director and the While We’re Young writer-director were spotted walking with a baby stroller in Manhattan in March. It was later confirmed by Page Six that the couple had welcomed their first child, a little boy.
Shortly after posting this mysterious black-and-white photo to Instagram in May, the rapper shared another shot of his son sleeping. “My son Noah. We are blessed and overjoyed. Peace,” he wrote.
The Million Dollar Listing New York star introduced his daughter, Leela, in September 2019, six months after her birth. “This is my daughter Leela Daniel Singh-Ortiz,” he captioned the post. “She was born on March 8, 2019, in New York City and ever since then, everything has become incredibly purposeful. I made a very special film about the day she was born.”
The Jessica Jones star, 37, welcomed her first child, a baby boy named Bruce Julian Knight Granofsky, back in July. However, the news didn’t break until one month later, when TMZ obtained the baby’s birth certificate, which confirms that he was born on July 9 at 2:47 p.m. at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
