New ‘Ozark’ Behind-the-Scenes Video Offers a Glimpse of What’s to Come in Season 4, Part 2

This brand-new Ozark teaser is filled with hidden clues about what’s to come in season 4, part 2.

Today, Netflix released a rare behind-the-scenes video on YouTube, featuring the cast—Jason Bateman (Marty), Laura Linney (Wendy), Sofia Hublitz (Charlotte) and Skylar Gaertner (Jonah)—saying an emotional goodbye to the Byrde house. You know, the floor-to-ceiling window home the family lived in for all four seasons.

The video begins with the cast explaining the significance of the location, which is a real house (not a set). “The Byrde house has been a central location for us,” Bateman says. “It is kind of another family member.”

“It became a character unto itself. Stunningly beautiful,” Linney adds. “Man, it is beautiful.”

So, why is the BTS footage important? Well, it does give us an idea of what’s to come in the new episodes. The biggest takeaway? It seems the Byrdes are going to stay in the Ozarks longer than expected. At the end of part 1, the family wants to move back to Chicago to focus on the foundation (and escape the wrath of Navarro’s cousin, Javi). But based on the behind-the-scenes video, it seems those plans never happen.

While discussing the Byrde house, Jessica Frances Dukes (who plays Agent Maya Miller) says, “The first day I was on set, I showed up at this house. My last day, I’m here.” We repeat, “My last day, I’m here.” Why would Dukes film at the Byrde house if the family already moved to Chicago?

Even Hublitz admits that the Byrde house symbolizes the family’s relationship. “This house has always been constant and consistent in the story,” she says. “It signifies their unity and togetherness as a family.”

If you need us, we’ll be counting down the days until Ozark season 4, part 2 hits Netflix on April 29.
