Multiple ‘Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’ Cast Members Were on ‘Gilmore Girls’

It’s no secret that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Gilmore Girls were created by Amy Sherman-Palladino. But we never realized how much of a connection there is between the two shows.

In honor of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season four, we took a detailed look at the cast list and realized that four—we repeat, four—cast members appeared on both The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season four and Gilmore Girls: Alex Borstein, Milo Ventimiglia, Kelly Bishop and Chris Eigeman.

First, there’s Borstein (Susie Myerson in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), who played two characters in Gilmore Girls. In season one, she portrayed a rude harpist named Drella. But in seasons three and five, she also portrayed Miss Celine.

Next, there’s Ventimiglia, who starred as Rory’s boyfriend, Jess, on Gilmore Girls. Although not much is known about his role on The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, his involvement is reportedly very “brief.”

There’s also Bishop, who portrayed Lorelai’s mom, Emily, on Gilmore Girls. She’s also appearing as a guest star in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season four.

Lastly, there’s Eigeman, who played Lorelai’s boyfriend, Jason Stiles, in Gilmore Girls season four. He also appears in an episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel season four, titled “How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall?”

It’s important to know that Borstein, Ventimiglia, Bishop and Eigeman aren’t the only ones with this connection. In fact, there are several other stars who appeared on both Gilmore Girls and past seasons of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, including Jane Lynch, Emily Bergl, Brian Tarantina and Liza Weil.

We see what you did there, Amy Sherman-Palladino.
