The Virgin River cast is already filming season 5 in Canada. So, Martin Henderson (who plays Jack) is taking advantage of the country’s beautiful scenery during his free time.
This week, the Grey’s Anatomy alum, 47, posted a video on his personal Instagram account and explained that he’s learning a new sport—water skiing— when the cameras aren’t rolling.
In the clip, Henderson is being pulled by a boat on a single water ski. Although he claims he’s a beginner (see below), the actor looks like a total pro on the water, weaving in and out of the wake. (If the lake looks familiar, that’s because it’s featured in the background of Virgin River season 4.)
“This is what a Sunday in #virginriver country looks like,” Henderson wrote in the caption. “So grateful that this is our backyard while we film in Vancouver.”
He also noted that he’s new to the activity, adding, “I’m only a beginner but I’m gonna get good at this sport—I love that it offers such an opportunity to find grace and power at the same time! Hope y’all had a great weekend and hopefully you got to feel the beauty and healing power of nature too! Back to set tomorrow to get season 5 to you soon(ish)!”
Henderson also added an array of inspirational hashtags: “#getoutside #keepmoving #natureheals #nevertoooldtolearn #trysomethingnew.”
