1. When Does 'lovecraft Country' Premiere?

Unfortunately, HBO hasn’t released an exact premiere date for Lovecraft Country. However, the network previously revealed it would drop sometime in August 2020, so we shouldn’t have to wait too long.

2. What Is 'lovecraft Country' About?

Lovecraft Country is based on Matt Ruff’s 2016 horror novel of the same name. The series takes place during the era of Jim Crow laws, and tells the story of Atticus Black, a young veteran who travels to the south in an attempt to carry on his father’s legacy. During his journey, he encounters both human and supernatural obstacles that will make you say, “WTF.” Think of it as a cross between Stranger Things and The Outsider.

3. Who's In 'lovecraft Country'?

The series is created by Misha Greene (Underground) and Jordan Peele (Get Out), who will also serve as an executive producer alongside J.J. Abrams (Lost). The cast is a mix of familiar and new faces, including Jonathan Majors (The Last Black Man in San Francisco), Aunjanue Ellis (The Help), Wunmi Mosaku (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Jurnee Smollett (Birds of Prey), Abbey Lee (Mad Max: Fury Road), Courtney B. Vance (The Photograph) and Michael K. Williams (Boardwalk Empire).

Yes, and it’s not for the fainthearted. The clip introduces viewers to Atticus, a strong-minded man who travels to an area of the south that despises visitors. Still, he’s determined to discover the truth about Lovecraft country after his father leaves behind a cryptic letter.
