As if finding the perfect match weren't hard enough, reality dating shows now have people dressing up like monsters and going on TV to try to find The One. But while studios have produced practically every type of matchmaking show imaginable, there are still a surprising lack of these programs that focus on LGBTQ+ participants. However, now there are 2 new shows that dropped just in time for Pride month, which see queer folks finally getting in on the fun.

Both of these series are landmark releases in the world of dating shows. On May 14, the first-ever gay U.K. dating show dropped, titled I Kissed a Boy. Then, only ten days later, the U.S. released a spinoff of the hit series The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, titled The Ultimatum: Queer Love (which focuses solely on queer women and non-binary people—a first-of-its-kind release for Netflix).

Both of these shows have messy and dramatic gists—which make them perfect fodder for fans of salacious reality TV.

1. I Kissed a Boy

With I Kissed a Boy, the summary is right there in the title (and it's not a reference to a Katy Perry song, but they might be winking to their audience).

In I Kissed a Boy, ten single queer male contestants are tasked with trying to find their match, but there's no small talk or dating involved. They've simply gotta scope the other person out with just a kiss. Seems simple enough, right?

2. The Ultimatum: Queer Love

Then, in The Ultimatum: Queer Love, the concept is similar to its sister show—this LGBTQ+ addition to the Ultimatum universe follows five couples composed of women and non-binary people. However, each pairing has reached a speed bump, because one partner is ready for marriage, and the other is not.

In the 10-episode series, an ultimatum is set, and each couple has 8 weeks to decide if they're gonna tie the knot...or cut each other loose.

We're ready for the (queer) drama!
