The news of the bittersweet switcheroo was announced on Live early this morning, Feb. 16, when Seacrest said, “Last year, we spoke and I made the decision to make this my last season as co-host with Kel here on Live with Kelly and Ryan.” According to Seacrest, he is planning to leave at some point this spring, as he prepares to move to Los Angeles.
The co-host also made an Instagram post, where he wrote, “I’m going to miss my work wife and all the laughter we share. When I signed on to host Live in 2017 it was meant to be for 3 years, but I loved the job and working with Kelly so much that I extended my time and last year I made the decision to stay on for one more final season.”
Now, 6 years later, Seacrest has finally decided to step down, and we know that Ripa is really going to miss him too. On the show, the Live Wire author said, “You are a gem. You are one of my best friends and...the greatest part of this entire experience has been that you've gone from being a friend to a family member.”
But, if there's one thing we know, Consuelos will fill the spot well.
