House of Dragons is based on George R.R. Martin’s 2018 novel, Fire & Blood. The new series is set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, telling the story of House Targaryen and the Targaryen Civil War—also referred to as the Dance of Dragons.
Back in October, the first official teaser was released on social media. Though the trailer was only a minute long, it gave a small glimpse at the star-studded cast. The trailer included stars like Paddy Considine (King Viserys Targaryen), Emma D’Arcy (Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen), Matt Smith (Prince Daemon Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys Velaryon) and Sonoya Mizuno (Mysaria).
Martin will serve as the co-creator/executive producer of the show, while Ryan Condal (Hercules, Rampage) will be the screenwriter and Miguel Sapochnik (Finch, Repo Men) will be the director.
Don’t mind us, we’ll just be counting down the days to the House of the Dragon series premiere.
