Netflix Is Turning ‘The House of Flowers’ Into a Movie—& Here’s the First Trailer

The House of Flowers (AKA La Casa de las Flores) is getting the movie treatment, courtesy of Netflix.

The streaming service just dropped the first official trailer for the highly anticipated spin-off movie, which picks up right where we left off in the popular series. (You know, with the De La Mora family running a flower business that looks professional to outsiders, but in reality, it’s masking loads of secrets.)

In the trailer, we learn that the family’s maid, Delia (Norma Angélica), is on her deathbed. When Delia refers to “treasure” hidden inside the De La Mora family’s home, Paulina (Cecilia Suárez) embarks on a mission to track it down. The problem? She must gain access to her old house in order for the hunt to begin.

“When you were little, you and your siblings used to hide treasures in your parents' bedroom,” Delia says in the clip. After Paulina tries (and fails) to gain access to her former home, she confidently says, “I have a plan.”

In addition to Suárez and Angélica, The House of Flowers: The Movie also stars Dario Yazbek (Julián), Aislinn Derbez (Elena), Juan Pablo Medina (Diego), Paco León (José María) and Luis de la Rosa (Bruno). Manolo Caro (Someone Has to Die) is returning to the direct the movie.

The House of Flowers series originally premiered on Netflix back in 2018. Although it garnered a cult following, Netflix announced in February 2020 that season three would be the show’s last. It didn’t take long for the streaming service to develop a spin-off movie, which is scheduled to premiere later this year.

Hey, we’ll take what we can get.
